About these terms
These terms of use set out the rules for using this website, parquet-de-versailles.co.uk. They explain what the website is for, how you may use its content, and the limits of our responsibility to you.
They apply to your use of the website only. They are not terms of sale: nothing can be bought on this website, and no order for a floor is made through it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Parquet de Versailles, a UK business. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Parquet de Versailles, and “you” means anyone who uses the website.
Name: Parquet de Versailles. Email: info@parquet-de-versailles.co.uk.
Using this website
By using this website, you accept these terms and agree to follow them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
If you use the website on behalf of a practice, company or other organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
You do not need an account to use the website, and we do not charge you for using it.
What this website is for
This website presents bespoke Parquet de Versailles panels, made to order and handcrafted in Britain. It is here so that you can find out about them and send us an enquiry about your project. No prices are shown, and nothing can be ordered or paid for on the website.
Nothing on this website is an offer
Nothing on this website is an offer to sell anything, and using the website does not by itself create a contract between you and us.
Sending us an enquiry does not create a contract between you and us. Nor does any reply we send, or any discussion that follows.
Details you give us in an enquiry, such as the timber you are interested in, a panel size or your programme, help us understand your project. They do not commit you or us to anything.
Every floor is made to order to an agreed specification. If you decide to go ahead, your order will be made on separate written terms, agreed with you after the specification has been approved. Those written terms, not these terms of use, will govern the supply of your floor. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Photographs and natural timber
Photographs on this website are for illustration. Colour and grain may also look different on your screen from how they look in a room.
Timber is a natural material. Knots, grain movement, colour variation and subtle differences between individual boards ensure that every completed floor is unique. Your floor will therefore not be identical to any floor shown on this website.
Sizes, timbers and lead times
Panel sizes, timbers and lead times described on this website are a general description of what we offer. Because every floor is made to order, the details for your project may differ.
The lead time shown on this website is 8 to 10 weeks. The panel size, timber, lead time and other details of your floor will be agreed with you and confirmed in writing before any order is placed.
Our intellectual property
Unless we say otherwise, the text, photographs, graphics and design of this website are owned by us or used with the permission of their owners. They are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, and all rights are reserved.
What you may do
You may use the content of this website for personal and professional reference. This means you may:
- view the website, and print or save copies of individual pages for your own reference;
- share a link to any page of the website, as long as you do so fairly and do not suggest that we endorse you or your business;
- if you are an architect, interior designer, heritage specifier, contractor or other professional, include pages or images from this website in a presentation, mood board, specification or similar document for a particular client or project, so that your client or project team can consider our panels.
When you use our content in these ways, please keep it unaltered, credit Parquet de Versailles as the source, and do not suggest that we endorse you, your practice or your project unless we have agreed to that in writing.
What you may not do
Apart from the uses allowed above, and except where the law allows it, you must not do any of the following without our written permission:
- use any text, photograph or other content from this website for commercial purposes, including in your own advertising, website, social media, brochures, portfolio or product listings;

If you would like to use our content in any other way, including in a portfolio or a publication, please ask us first by emailing info@parquet-de-versailles.co.uk.
Material you send us
When you send us an enquiry through the website, you can include details of your project and attach one file, such as a floor plan or photographs. When you do so, you must:
- only send material that you have the right to share with us, and make sure that sharing it does not break any confidentiality obligation or anyone else’s rights;
- make sure the information you give us is accurate, as far as you know;
- not send anything that is unlawful or offensive, or that contains a virus or other harmful code.
You keep ownership of anything you send us. By sending it, you allow us to use it to consider and respond to your enquiry, to discuss your project with you and to keep a record of your enquiry. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle any personal information in it.
Acceptable use
You may use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- use the website in any way that breaks any law or regulation, or that is fraudulent or harmful;
- knowingly introduce, or try to introduce, a virus, malware or any other harmful material, whether through the enquiry form, a file upload or in any other way;

- attack the website, including through a denial-of-service attack, or do anything that could damage, overload or disrupt it;

- use the enquiry form to send advertising, spam or bulk messages, or to pretend to be another person or organisation;
- try to get around any measure we use to protect the website or to filter unwanted messages.
Some of these actions may be criminal offences, for example under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We may report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and co-operate with them. If you break these rules, your right to use the website ends immediately.
Links to other websites
This website may contain links to other websites, such as our Instagram account, @britwoodfloors. The link to Instagram is a plain link: no Instagram content is embedded in this website.
We have no control over other websites, and we are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your information. When you follow a link, you leave this website, and the other website’s own terms and privacy policy apply. A link does not mean that we endorse that website or anything on it.
Availability and changes to the website
We may update or change the website at any time, for example to add new photographs or information. We may also suspend, restrict or withdraw all or part of the website for business or operational reasons.
The website is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee that it, or any content on it, will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.
The information on the website is general information about what we make. It is not professional advice, and it does not replace a written specification or professional advice about your particular building or project. The details of your floor will be agreed with you and confirmed in writing.
We do not guarantee that the website is free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for your own devices, software and internet connection, and you should use your own virus protection software.
We cannot guarantee that every message sent through the website reaches us. If you are concerned that your enquiry has not arrived, please email us at info@parquet-de-versailles.co.uk.
Our responsibility to you
What we do not exclude or limit
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
These terms deal only with your use of the website. Our responsibility for any floor we supply will be set out in the separate written terms for that order.
If you use the website for business
This part applies if you use the website in the course of a business, trade, craft or profession, for example as an architect, interior designer, heritage specifier or contractor. It is subject to “What we do not exclude or limit” above.
To the extent the law allows, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations and other terms that may apply to the website or any of its content.
We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
- your use of, or inability to use, the website; or
- your use of, or reliance on, any content on the website.
In particular, we will not be liable for loss of profits, sales, business or revenue; business interruption; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss or damage.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, a denial-of-service attack or other technologically harmful material that may affect your equipment, programs or data because you used the website, downloaded any of its content, or visited any website linked from it.
If you are a consumer
This part applies if you use the website as an individual for purposes wholly or mainly outside any business, trade, craft or profession, for example as a private client planning a floor for your own home. It is subject to “What we do not exclude or limit” above.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both you and we knew it might happen at the time you used the website.
We are not liable to you for any business losses, such as loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information, including the details you give us when you send an enquiry. Our Cookies Policy explains how cookies are used on this website. Please read them alongside these terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, their subject matter and their formation, and any dispute or claim arising from them or from your use of the website (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This means that if you live in Scotland, you may bring legal proceedings in either the Scottish or the English courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland, you may bring them in either the Northern Irish or the English courts. If you live outside the United Kingdom, you may also have the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.
If you use the website for business, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the website, to the way we work or to the law. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Please check this page whenever you use the website, because the version shown at the time applies to your use.

- If a court decides that any part of these terms is invalid or cannot be enforced, the rest of the terms will still apply.
- If we do not insist straight away that you follow these terms, or we delay in doing so, we can still insist later.
- These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them.
